In a report from doxoINSIGHTS both Dawson and Pickens county have significantly lower costs of living than the US average. Dawson county residents’ average annual expenses are $1,707 lower than the US average and at $1,904/month and make Dawson the 29th most expensive county in Georgia with the typical household spending 33% of the income. 

Pickens county residents fair even better with the annual bills coming in at $4,396 less than the US average.  Households in Pickens spend, on average, $1,680 on expenses thus spending only 29% of their income on these expenses.  Pickens ranked as the 53d most expensive in Georgia.
