Nashville household bills increased nearly 10% in 2024, report says

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A new report is looking at U.S. households and how much they’re paying for bills in 2024.

Doxo released its 15-page report revealing how Americans spend more than $3.3 trillion a year on household bills.

Below is a look at how much Nashvillians are paying:

  • The average Nashville household pays $2,457 a month, or $29,478 a year for the 10 most common household bills, up 9.8% year over year. This is compared to a 4% average increase at the national level.
  • The household expenses in Nashville, on average, are 15.5% higher than the national average of $2,126, and 27.1% higher than the state average of $1,933.
  • Nashville is the #10 most expensive city in Tennessee for household bills.
  • Nashville households spend 37% of their income on household bills.
